Second Major in Systems Engineering

Systems Engineering is a transdisciplinary and integrative approach of engineering and engineering management on how to design, build, integrate and manage systems over their life cycles. The Major in Systems Engineering will help you navigate complexity as systems are getting more and more interconnected and integrate the technologies of the 4^th  Industrial Revolution.

The Industrial Systems Engineering and Management (ISEM) Department offers the Major in Systems Engineering (Sys Eng Major), a Second Major as part of NUS' Special Undergraduate Programmes, for students from all other faculties and schools.

The programme is offered from August 2008. Students may be admitted to the programme based on the following criteria:

• Students can apply on admission or after they have completed their first year of study;
• Must apply no later than the 5th semester of their study;
• Must have a GPA score of at least 3.5
• Course requirements - AY2019/2020 Intake to AY2020/2021
• Course requirements - AY2021/2022 Intake and after

Once admitted to the Second Major in Systems Engineering programme, students do not need to maintain any minimum academic performance threshold in order to remain in the programme. They are strongly encouraged to plan their courses well in order to be able to complete the programme requirements.

Application Procedure

To apply for Second Major in Systems Engineering, students must write to ug_isem@nus.edu.sg before the 5th semester of study. Late applications will not be entertained.

Application period: Week 13 to Reading Week.
